Ellen is a naturalist, preferring the light provided by Mother Nature to the studio. Ellen described her Wright Light as “If I had to choose my favorite type of natural light it would have to be at sunset.”
What makes you happiest about being a photographer?
Ellen is happiest as a photographer when “I get to help people capture their memories. I capture the love between two people as I take their maternity photos; or the joy on someone’s face as they are having fun. That is what brings me the most joy.”
Ever since Ellen Gabriella Wright was a little girl, she loved taking pictures of her surroundings and friends. With In the Wright Light Photography, she is able to take advantage of her love of photography and do what many entrepreneurs are encouraged to do with their lives – make their jobs what they love.
Wright’s friends and family have been her inspiration. They have been her first models and have helped her grow as a photographer. Her first subjects were the beauty of the coast of Maine. This is where Ellen grew up; her first love, from the rocky coasts, conifers and snowfalls, the lobstermen and sailboats bobbing in the ocean, or the magnificent sunrises at the lighthouses off the Maine coasts.
Moving to Florida 8 years ago, Wright had even more beautiful scenery to take pictures of – beaches, sunsets from the western shores of Palm Island, and the palms giving shade to the birds and tortoises of the craggy woods of the Nature Coast.
